Century Roofing is a licensed and insured New Jersey roofing contractor, registered with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs under New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor licence number 13VH13940900. Current certificates of insurance and license documentation are provided on request before work begins — ask and we will send them.
New Jersey requires home improvement contractors to be registered with the Division of Consumer Affairs. Any contractor who hesitates to show that registration, or a certificate of insurance naming you, should not be on your roof.
What we inspect
What to verify with any roofer
- A current certificate of general liability insurance, sent directly from their insurer
- Workers' compensation coverage for everyone who will be on the property
- New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration number
- A written contract with scope, materials, and payment schedule spelled out
- Manufacturer warranty terms in writing, separate from the workmanship warranty
Why it matters on a roof specifically
Roofing is elevated work. If an uninsured crew member is injured on your property, the exposure can land on your homeowner's policy. Verifying coverage is not paperwork for its own sake.
It also protects the work itself: an insured, registered contractor still exists in three years when a warranty question comes up.
