Roofing Contractor in Edison, New Jersey

Edison is one of the largest townships in Middlesex County and one of the most mixed: dense post-war neighborhoods, newer colonial subdivisions, and a very large inventory of warehouse and office buildings along the Turnpike and Route 1.

That mix is why our Edison work splits almost evenly between pitched residential roofs and low-slope commercial membranes.

Residential roofing in Edison

The older sections near Clara Barton and Stelton are heavy on capes and ranches with straightforward gable roofs. The newer subdivisions off Oak Tree Road and toward North Edison are two-story colonials with steeper pitch, front gables, and more valley footage.

More valleys means more places to get the detail wrong. On replacements here we run closed-cut valleys over full-width ice-and-water membrane, and we do not reuse valley metal.

From the field

Attic ventilation and summer heat

A large share of Edison homes have finished attic space or added insulation over blocked soffits. In July that produces attic temperatures high enough to cook shingles from underneath and shorten the roof's life by years.

When we replace a roof here we correct the intake and exhaust balance at the same time — continuous ridge vent paired with clear soffit intake, not a mix of ridge vent and old box vents fighting each other.

What we inspect

Commercial and warehouse roofs

Edison has one of the densest concentrations of distribution and light-industrial buildings in the state, most of them on ballasted EPDM or older single-ply that is at or past twenty years.

Where the deck and insulation are dry, a TPO recover is usually the better economics than a full tear-off: less disruption to tenants, no dumpster program across the parking area, and a new warrantable surface. Where core samples come back wet, we say so and price the tear-off.

The recurring failures we find on these roofs are the same everywhere: clogged interior drains, HVAC curbs re-penetrated by service contractors without re-flashing, and seams at the ponding low corners.

What we do in Edison

  • Asphalt shingle roof replacement on residential properties
  • Leak diagnosis and targeted repair, including valley and chimney flashing
  • TPO and EPDM installation and recover on commercial low-slope roofs
  • Scheduled commercial roof maintenance and drain clearing
  • Roof inspections for property transactions and insurance claims

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on commercial buildings in Edison?
Yes — warehouse, distribution, and office roofs are a large share of our Edison work, mostly TPO and EPDM repair, recover, and maintenance.
Can a warehouse roof be recovered instead of torn off?
Often, yes. We take core samples first. If the insulation is dry and the deck is sound, a recover costs less and disrupts tenants less. If cores come back wet, a recover just traps the moisture and we will tell you that.
How long does a typical Edison house roof take?
Most single-family replacements here are a one- to two-day job depending on square footage, pitch, and how many layers come off.
Do you handle permits in Edison Township?
Yes. We file with the township, schedule the inspection, and provide the closed-out documentation.
My upstairs rooms are unbearable in summer. Is that a roof problem?
It is often a ventilation problem that a roof replacement is the right time to fix. We check soffit intake and exhaust balance during the estimate and include the correction in the quote.
